RCIA CLASSES WILL BEGIN ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2011

 

The Parish community of St. Helen of the Cross invites you to explore the Roman Catholic Faith with us.

 

The mission of the RCIA at St. Helen of the Cross is to encourage and support the Faith formation of those seeking to live their lives as Catholic Christians. Our Parish community does this through example, prayer, team work, discernment, reflection and sharing the Faith journey.

 

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is a process through which non-baptized men and women enter the Catholic Church. It includes several stages marked by study, prayer and rites at Mass. Participants in R.C.I.A. are known as catechumens. They undergo a process of  conversion as they study the Gospel,  profess faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church, and  receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.

R.C.I.A. is for those baptized in a different faith tradition who wish to become Catholic, or baptized Catholic, but never confirmed. If you have received all the sacraments of initiation, but would still like to know more about your faith you may also attend.

 

RCIA addresses the conversion needs of:

 

Anyone 18 years old or older…

 

· Who has never been baptized.

· Who  has been baptized in another Christian tradition.

· Who was baptized Catholic but had no instruction in the Faith or has not  received the Sacraments of First Eucharist and/or Confirmation.

 

LAS CLASES EMPEZARAN EL JUEVES 17 DE NOVIEMBRE, 2011

  La comunidad de la Iglesia de santa Elena de  la cruz te invita a explorar la fe católica romana con      nosotros.

La misión de RICA de Santa Elena de la Cruz es fortalecer y apoyar la formación de la fe de aquellos que buscan vivir sus vidas como cristianos católicos. La comunidad de la parroquia , da ejemplos  a través de oraciones, equipos de trabajo, reflexiones y compartir la jornada de la fe.

 

R.I.C.A. es un proceso para hombres y mujeres no bautizados para entrarse  a la Iglesia Católica.       Incluye varias etapas marcadas  como estudio, oración y ritos en Misa. Los participantes son conocidos como   catecúmenos . Ellos pasan por un proceso de conversión como es estudiar el evangelio, profesar la fe en Jesús , la Iglesia Católica y recibir los sacramentos de Bautismo, Primera Comunión y Confirmación.

 

R.I.C.A. es para aquellos que son bautizados en una tradición de fe diferente quien desea llegar a ser Católico o Católico bautizado pero que nunca ha sido confirmado. Si has recibido todos los sacramentos de iniciación, pero aún te gustaría conocer más acerca de tu fe, también puedes asistir.

 

Requisitos para participar en RICA

 

· Cualquier persona de 18 años de edad o mayor.

· Quien nunca haya sido bautizado.

· Quien ha sido bautizado en otra religión cristiana.

· Quienes fueron católicos pero no han tenido instrucción en la fe o no han recibido los          sacramentos de primera comunión y/o confirmación.
